General Ledger Maintained

Essential Functions
  1. Prepares month-end standard and adjusted journal entries.
  2. Maintains records and analysis of accounts receivable.
  3. Maintains general ledger and prepares monthly financial statements for East House Corporation as well as properties.
  4. Ensures that all monthly bank account statements are reconciled.
  5. Manages cash funds including preparation and oversight of bank deposits, transfers between accounts and cash records.
  6. Ensures that all year-end audit/adjusting journal entries have been posted and that the general ledger is reconciled to audited financial statements.

Financial Reports

Essential Functions
  1. Assists Finance Director with preparation of agency budgets, consolidated fiscal reports, audits, statistical and other confidential records.
  2. Prepares and submits financial reports for internal and external use.


Essential Functions
  1. Coordinates/conducts random audits (ie. Petty cash and payroll) to ensure that agency accounting policies and procedures are being adhered to. Provides reports of findings to Director.
  2. Fulfills information requests from State agency auditors.
  3. Reviews accounts payable and payroll changes prior to payment.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience
Associates degree in accounting or business administration and three years of relevant experience, or the equivalent in relevant education and experience. Nonprofit experience with OMH/OASAS funding and supervisory experience is preferred.

Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with culturally diverse clients, general public, and other staff.
• Demonstrated competence in accounting and other analytical and organizational skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as the ability to use workbooks, link data, create and edit charts, change page orientation, add headers and footers, filter and sort lists, format data, insert rows, enter and sort data and produce graphs and charts.
