Summary

Responsible for effectively planning, directing and coordinating all activities of assigned Programs, through a combination of direct effort and utilizing resources from Sales & Marketing, Product Management, R&D, Validation, Customer Care, and Manufacturing. Leads, manages, drives, and motivates all of these functional groups within the organization from initial estimation through sustaining support of a program. Ensures all projects in a program successfully integrate to meet the requirements and functionality specified. Communicates program status, program readiness, and technical issues and risks and their resolution across functional organizations, including Senior Management. Works with Sales & Marketing to improve the opportunities for increasing revenue growth from NRE and sustaining support. Works with Product Manager to define and execute a product lifecycle strategy to increase the revenue stream generated by each product; as well as to resolve technical or product component issues.

Essential Functions
  1. Ensures Program Management of product releases involving cross-functional teams focusing on full life cycle of product development process including requirements, functional specifications, system/architecture design, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  2. Develops and delivers master project plan, milestones, and provides management escalation, project prioritization, risk mitigation, and makes necessary trade offs to balance business needs and technical limitations.
  3. Directly applies medical imaging expertise to new products and the improvement of existing products.
  4. Communicates /coordinates product specifications and development with external customer ( e.g. OEM’s). Owns all program communications with the client post contract.
  5. Supervises program management activities on assigned programs directly.
  6. Supports Sales and Marketing in defining and estimating new product programs, and developing a plan to bring those programs to market.
  7. Drives DCP process throughout the organization.
  8. Supports product life-cycle management to achieve long-range plans for product support.
  9. Recommends business practices that effectively support s knowledge management and preservation of intellectual property.

Project Costs within Specs

Essential Functions
  1. Acts as the point of contact to communicate periodically and timely project status and budgets to all team members, the executive team and external customers (OEMs) in the most clear and quantifiable manner.
  2. Develops resource planning/scheduling matrix with Director of Hardware Engineering, Director Software Engineering, Director of Program Management, and Quality Manager to better plan resource allocation.
  3. Supports Sales & Marketing through improved Program estimation and better pricing models for NRE and Sustaining Support quotations.

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education
Four year engineering degree, MBA preferred

Minimum Experience
10 years of relevant experience managing medium and large software/hardware engineering projects. Medical Imaging knowledge is a major plus

Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience
• Should be thoroughly familiar with program management including project financial management, proposal preparation experience, and contract negotiations.
• Must possess outstanding skills in full life cycle development process and proven track record in delivering products consistently.
• Must be a strategic thinker, goal/team oriented and possess a history of developing relationships in all areas of management.
• Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to lead a strong cast of cross-functional team leaders to achieve the highest team performance possible.
• He/she will be comfortable speaking and presenting their ideas to executives as well as customers.
• A self-starter who can work independently or in teams to accomplish tasks.
• Demonstrated understanding of hardware and software standards, configuration management, and technology initiatives
• Excellent analytical, people management, and communication skills are a must.
